Beschreibung
The introduction of a ‘Europe of Knowledge’ brought higher education, research and innovation into many European policies and sectors. Despite being nationally determined, the European commission has invested in knowledge or science policies as a means to further integration and advance various EU internal and external agendas. This course will explore how the idea of the Europe of Knowledge was developed, the growth of European science policies, and the interconnections with other policy sectors such as foreign policy (Science Diplomacy), security policy (Defense research), and innovation policy (Open innovation); as well as examine how current trends are impacting societal trust in European science policy.
